10th Majalis Recited by Moulana Banglori 2005
This is an effort to translate into English majalis recited at the jic center in Kissimmee while the majalis is being recited in Urdu. Every effort is made to keep the translation accurate. Please post any errors to the yahoo group jicmajalis.
Sura Baqra will be discussed today. Those men who have died in the way of Allah are alive but you know not. Just as the people of the world do not know of the life of the fetus or of the life of the angels they are definitely alive. In another ayat Allah states that if someone dies in the way of Allah do not even think that they are dead let alone speak of them. Their rizk is from their Allah. Just as Allah provides the fetus food in the womb of the mother. The food that is appropriate for the fetus is provided not the food eaten by the mother. Thus if someone does nazr or niaz just as the food is provided to the fetus in the manner he requires Allah will provide food for the shaheed.
A stone is a stone unless it is taken up by a tree and processed and becomes food. Similarly if a tree becomes part of an animal by being eaten it is of more use. Similarly an animal that is eaten by man becomes a part of man and is incorporated into him. In a similar fashion he who has given his life in the way of Allah becomes a part of the mission. This is why Khaja Ajmeri states that Imam Hussain by giving his head but not allegiance to Yazid proved that he is an integral part of La Ilaha Illahala for if Hussain did not exist then this ayat would have been forgotten.
Thus men who give their life in the way of Allah are Shaheed. Imam Hussain is doing this with the agreement of Allah. Imam Hussain was offered help by jinn but he declined. Similarly he felt a shade looked up and saw Gibraeel and asked him to move away as Allah wanted to show the people how patient a person can be. When Imam Hussain carried off all the dead bodies he did not remember the shia, but when he picked up the body of Ali Asghar he remembered the shia. This small corpse was very hard for Imam Hussain to carry.
Imam Hussain then cried out is there any who will help Hussain and he saw Syed E Sajjad come out of the tent with the support of a stick. He was ill and Imam Hussain took him back into the tent and told him that if he is also killed then what of the imamat. He told him to remind the shia of the plight of Hussain and asked them to
remember his thirst every time they sipped water.
Imam Hussain asked Fizza to hide a bundle of clothes and bring them to him. Bibi Zainab saw her and made her show what was it that she was carrying out. Bibi Zainab cried that this is Imam Hussain's kafan. He took the kafan and tore it in many places so that after his death the enemy would not tear the kafan off him as a torn kafan would have no value for them.
Imam Hussain then asked Bibi Zainab to move the cloth from over her arms and he kissed her arms as this would be where her hands would be bound and she kissed her brothers neck as this would be cut off.
As Imam Hussain left the tent he gave salaam to each and every one and it appeared as though a funeral procession was leaving. Imam Hussain looked around as he mounted the horse as usually Ali Akber and Hazrat Abbas helped him mount the horse. Bibi Zainab stepped forward and helped Imam Hussain mount the horse.
The horse stopped after taking a few steps. Imam Hussain begged the horse to move forward but the horse indicated toward his feet. At the feet of the horse of Hussain was sakina who was stopping the horse from moving stating that all who have gone to battle have been killed do not take my father to battle---.
Imam Hussain saw in the battlefield the corpses of Aun and Mohammed of Abbas and Ali Akber. He then attacked the army of Yazid. This is a man who was weakened by hunger and thirst of three day and had picked up so many corpses. Then he stopped and people threw stones, shot arrows, threw spears at him. Hurmula shot an arrow and this brought Imam Hussain to the ground with its force. Bibi Zainab ran out and looked for Imam Hussain. She cried Oh Omr E Saad you stand by to see my brother the grandson of the Prophet being slaughtered by Shimr.
Imam Hussain did his last prayer and then gave his last salaam-----.
